How do these courses work?
This website portal is devoted exclusively to the online training and educational resources for laboratory professionals. You will only find a list of courses here - and access to courses once you have registered for them.
To get started, you must REGISTER on this website first. To register, simply follow the link at the upper right portion of this screen - then you'll be asked to choose a password and enter a few details about your address and organization.
After you have registered with the course portal, you will be able to ENROLL in specific courses. It's important to note that registering with the course portal does not give you any access to any courses - you must register first, then enroll in a specific course after that.
Click here to see a step-by-step description of registration and enrollment.
Why split up registration and enrollment? It's a bit of labor savings for you. You will only have to register once, then you will be able to enroll in as many courses as you want, without having to re-enter your profile information.
Will I be able to view these webcasts?
Some of the courses that will be offered on this website will be webcasts, that is, streaming media. They will include animated, audio narrated presentations on laboratory. These are very large files that are "streamed" to your computer just-in-time, so you can view the presentation without having to spend hours downloading the file.
In order to view the webcasts, you will need to make sure you have the following:
- a high speed internet connection (dial-up won't work)
- an up-to-date internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc. no more than a year or two old)
- the Flash 10 plug-in installed in your internet browser
This last point is critical - if you don't have the plug-in, you won't be able to make the connection to the source of the webcast.
You can find out more about the Flash player at
